Speed skaters are a plyometric exercise that builds lateral power and single-leg strength. They mimic the motion of a speed skater for explosive lateral movement.

How to Perform Speed Skater

    Stand on your right leg with a slight knee bend.

    Push off explosively to the left, landing on your left foot.
  3. 3
    Swing your right leg behind your left leg as you land.
  4. 4
    Immediately push off your left foot to jump back to the right.
  5. 5
    Swing your arms in opposition to your legs for momentum.
  6. 6
    Land softly with a bent knee to absorb impact.
  7. 7
    Continue alternating sides in a fluid, rhythmic motion.
